Teaser Done!!!

So this would be the teaser, or pre-teaser... not the one we've been filming for, but just a little idea we had. Anyway, nomenclature issues aside, check it out below! Help us out by leaving ratings and comments on the Youtube page :)

We also finished filming for the trailer this past Saturday, and should have that up within a couple of weeks. Thanks for following, and spread the word!

Pretty much everyone put in a solid day of work on the Saturday to shoot this. It was amazing to have everyone working together to get this done, not to mention really fun. We're hoping to shoot the outdoor portion this Sunday. Stay tuned!

Glitz

Hi everyone--

We're making a teaser trailer to get some attention for the game. The short is not meant to represent the game literally, but more to showcase the themes that are running around inside our heads during our creative processes.

This past weekend we shot all the indoor scenes. Most of the time we spent was setting up--messing with the lights, camera angles, green screen, etc. The outdoor shots should be filmed within the next few weeks, and hopefully editing soon after that. Before then, we had an idea for a "pre-teaser," which should be completed and posted on the YouTube account within a week or two.

We're also in the process of finding a rapper to perform the vocals for one of our tracks. Both the process of making this happen and the end product that we're visualizing are very exciting.

Progress otherwise is going well. The programming, audio, and art are all slowly being churned out. We'll keep you posted on progress, and will definitely post a link to the mini-teaser as soon as we get it done!

Level artwork is coming along slowly, animations haven't seen much work lately. Soundtracks almost done, more work on SFX to come.

We are currently working on a short teaser trailer, which should be up within one or two weeks, as well as a live-action trailer which will hopefully completed within a month or so. We'll let you guys know as soon as we upload these!

Video Upload

First video uploaded to our Youtube channel. Not really related, mostly just a test video. Also was in kind of a non-sequitur kind of mood.

Mockup Screenshots

Two screenshot mockups that I did a bit back (click to enlarge). Obviously some details are inaccurate/subject to change, but basically the game is about a kid who falls asleep in class, and the doodles on his paper start coming to life as this video game.

One visual aspect that is conspicuously omitted from the screenshots is the animation. The goal is to make all the movements very cartoony, with a strong emphasis on the quality/smoothness of animation (high # of frames/animation). This is coming along fairly well, but you'll have to trust us on this one for now, as we're still working towards the point where we can get quality gameplay footage to show off.

Anyway, enjoy!

Ice Breaker

Subj: what_is_this

Carnage Insurance Policy is a video game that is being developed by a small and industrious group. It is a side scrolling run-and-gun game, with a very animated look and feel to it--in fact, almost all of the in game motions and actions will be hand animated frame-by-frame.

We began working towards releasing this product on the Xbox Live Indie Games marketplace several months ago. In the coming months, it is our aneurysm-inducing hope to increase the team's creative efficiency (so we can hurry up and make this game available to you!), but we have accomplished quite a bit since we've started as well.

In terms of programming, the basic game mechanics are beginning to take form. We have the first draft of about half of the level environments completed, and a number of animations for various in-game entities. First drafts of the soundtracks for most of the levels have been completed, and some work on the sound effects has commenced.

All of us working on the project will be posting updates and information about the game here, from mechanics additions to new animations or audio tweaks (i.e., evidence that the above actually exists and is being worked on >_< ).

More basic info, some graphics (mockup screenshots for the time being--screen captures at a later date), and probably info about the people working on this project should be forthcoming shortly, so stay tuned for some succulent updates!
